Terms and conditions
The rules for using our website and the Digitise Devon launch package for your business.
Agreement to our terms
Welcome to Digitise Devon. We keep things simple. These terms explain the rules for using our website and buying our launch package. By using our site or signing up for our package, you agree to these terms. It is a straightforward agreement between us.
When we say "we" or "our" we mean Digitise Devon. When we say "client" or "you" we mean the business owner using our services. The "services" are everything we do to get your business online. The "package" is our complete Digitise Devon launch package. It includes your website, domain, email, and all the other elements we set up for you.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services. We have written these terms in plain English. No legal jargon. No hidden traps. Just a clear understanding between two parties doing honest business.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we will post the new version here. It is your responsibility to check back. Using our site after changes means you accept the new terms. Simple as that.
These terms apply to every visitor and every client. Whether you are just browsing or have signed up for the full package, these rules protect both of us. They set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Good business runs on clear agreements.
Our launch package
We provide one complete package. It is the Digitise Devon launch package. It includes a professional website of up to five pages, domain setup, a business email, Google Business Profile setup, social media profile setup, basic SEO foundations, and launch social media templates. Everything a local business needs to get online.
We deliver the package exactly as described on our website. No surprises. No hidden extras. You get what you see. If you need something different, we are happy to talk. Any variations to the standard package must be agreed in writing between us. A simple email confirming the changes works for both parties.
We build your online presence with care. We use reliable tools and proven methods. The package is designed to get your business looking professional from day one. We do not cut corners. We do not outsource to strangers. It is just us, doing good work for local businesses.
Once we agree to work together, we get started. We move fast. We keep things clear. You will know exactly what is happening at every stage. The package is fixed. The price is fixed. The outcome is a professional online presence for your business.
Your responsibilities
Good work needs good teamwork. We need a few things from you to do our job well. First, we need accurate information about your business. Tell us what you do, who you serve, and what makes you different. The words on your website come from you. We shape them, but the truth must be yours.
We need timely responses. We will send questions and drafts. Please do not leave us waiting. A quick reply keeps the project moving. Delays on your side mean delays on ours. We build momentum and we like to keep it.
If you have existing accounts, we may need access. This could be your current domain, a social media page, or a Google account. We handle your details with care. We only access what we need to get the job done. We never poke around where we do not belong.
You are responsible for providing any specific content you want on the site. Photos of your work, your logo, your story. If you do not have these, we can guide you. But the best websites feel real. They show the face behind the business. That part is up to you.
In short, be ready to collaborate. Be honest. Be responsive. We do the heavy lifting, but we need you to show up. Together we build something solid.
Payment terms
We keep payment simple. The price for the Digitise Devon launch package is clearly stated on our website. That is the price you pay. All prices include VAT where applicable. No hidden fees. No surprise charges at the end.
We ask for a deposit to begin work. This secures your spot and allows us to start building. The remaining balance is due upon completion, before we launch everything live. We will invoice you clearly. You will know exactly what you owe and when.
We accept payment by bank transfer. Details are on the invoice. If you prefer another method, ask us. We try to be flexible where we can.
If payment is late, we pause work. It is nothing personal. It is just business. We cannot keep building if the foundation is not paid for. We will send a polite reminder. If the delay continues, we reserve the right to suspend services until the account is settled.
We believe in fair exchange. You pay for a professional online presence. We deliver it. Clear terms make for clear minds. Both of us can focus on what matters. You on your business. Us on getting you online.
Timeline and delivery
We work fast. Our typical timeline from deposit to launch is short. We aim to meet the deadlines we agree on at the start. We set realistic dates. We do not promise what we cannot deliver. A rushed job is a bad job. We prefer a job done right.
Once you give us the green light, we begin. We build your site. We set up your email. We configure your profiles. We keep you updated throughout. You will not be left wondering what is happening. We send progress notes. We ask for feedback. It is a conversation, not a monologue.
Sometimes things take longer. A delay in your responses can push the timeline. A technical issue with a third party can slow us down. If something outside our control causes a delay, we will tell you immediately. We do not hide from problems. We solve them.
We launch everything when it is ready and you are happy. Not before. You sign off on the final work. Then we push it live. Your business is online. The timeline ends with a handshake and a live website.
We respect your time. We ask you to respect ours. Together we move from idea to launch without drama. Just steady, honest work.
Intellectual property
Once you pay in full, you own it. The website content we create for you is yours. The words, the images you provide, the design of your pages. Your domain name is registered in your name. Your business email belongs to you. These are your assets. You keep them.
We retain rights to the underlying tools and frameworks we use. These are the building blocks. The code structure, the platform, any third-party plugins. We have a license to use them. You have the right to use them as part of your website. You do not own the tools themselves, just as you do not own the hammer when you buy a house.
If you decide to move your website elsewhere in the future, we will not hold it hostage. We will help you export your content. Your domain is yours to transfer. We part on good terms. Your business is your business.
We may showcase your website in our portfolio. We are proud of our work. We like to show it off. If you prefer we do not, just tell us. We will respect that.
Clear ownership means no confusion. You own what you pay for. We keep what we built it with. It is a fair deal.
Domains and services
Your domain name is your address on the internet. We help you choose one and register it. Domain registration is subject to availability. We cannot guarantee your first choice is free. If it is taken, we find a good alternative together.
Domains are registered through third-party providers. Their terms apply. We manage the setup and renewal on your behalf. We make sure it points to your website. We handle the technical side. You own the domain. It is registered in your name and your business details.
The same applies to other third-party services. Your Google Business Profile, your social media accounts, your email hosting. These are set up using platforms we trust. Each has its own terms of service. We navigate these for you. We set everything up correctly. But ultimately, these accounts belong to you.
We keep records of your logins and details. We hand these over when the project is complete. You are in control. We recommend you keep these details safe. Change passwords. Keep them private. Your online presence is a valuable asset. Protect it.
If a third party changes their terms or pricing, that is beyond our control. We will help you adapt if needed. We are here for the long haul. Not just the launch.
Limitation of liability
We do our work well. We build your online presence with care and skill. But the internet is a big place and not everything is under our control. This section sets out the limits of our responsibility. It is a fair and honest look at what we can and cannot be held accountable for.
We are not liable for losses that are not directly caused by our work. If your business has a quiet month, that is not on us. If a customer does not like the shade of blue on your website, that is a matter of taste. We deliver a professional launch package. What you do with it is your business. We provide the tools. You make them work.
Sometimes third-party services go down. Google has an outage. Your email host has a problem. A social media platform changes its rules overnight. These things are beyond our reach. We are not responsible for the actions or failures of companies we do not own. We will help you navigate any issues. We will not be held liable for them.
Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the package. This is a standard and reasonable limit. It reflects the nature of our work. We are a small business helping other small businesses. We stand by our work. But we cannot risk everything on factors outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Or for fraud. Or for anything else the law says we cannot limit. We play by the rules. These terms are designed to be fair to both of us. They protect you. They protect us. They let us both get on with what we do best.
Cancellation and refunds
We hope it never comes to this. But if either of us needs to cancel, here is how it works. We keep things straightforward. No traps. No unfair penalties. Just a clear path for both parties.
If you need to cancel before we have started any work, we will refund your deposit in full. No questions asked. We understand that plans change. If we have already begun building your online presence, the deposit covers the time and effort we have invested. It is not refundable. Work completed is work paid for.
If we have completed a significant portion of the project and you decide to cancel, we will invoice you for the work done. This will be a fair amount based on what we have delivered. We will not charge you for work we have not yet started. You pay for what you get. Nothing more.
If we need to cancel, we will give you as much notice as possible. We will refund any payments for work not yet completed. We will also help you transition to another provider if that is what you want. Your domain and any accounts we set up are yours. We will not hold them back.
We both enter this agreement in good faith. We want to see it through. But if things change, we part ways cleanly. No hard feelings. Just a fair settlement and a handshake.
Privacy and data
We take your privacy seriously. When you work with Digitise Devon, you share information about your business. Your name, your contact details, your story. We treat this information with respect. We use it only to deliver your launch package and to communicate with you about the project.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with strangers. We do not use it for anything other than the work we agreed to do. Your information stays between us. It is a matter of trust. We earn that trust by being careful and transparent.
We store your data securely. We use reputable platforms and tools. We keep records only as long as we need them. If you want us to delete your information after the project is complete, just ask. We will do it promptly.
For a full explanation of how we handle personal data, please read our privacy policy. It covers everything in detail. If you have specific questions about your data, get in touch. We are happy to talk through it.
Your business is your livelihood. Your data is part of that. We protect it like we protect our own.
Changes to terms
Business evolves. The law changes. Sometimes we need to update these terms. We will not do it often. But when we do, we will make it clear. The latest version will always be here on this page. The date at the top will tell you when it was last updated.
If the changes are significant, we will let our active clients know. An email is usually the best way. We will give you a heads-up before the new terms take effect. We believe in fair warning. No one likes surprises buried in fine print.
By continuing to use our website or services after the terms have been updated, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using our services. We hope you will not feel the need to. We only make changes to keep things fair and clear.
We recommend checking this page from time to time. Especially if you are about to start a new project with us. Knowing the rules of the game makes everything run smoother. For both of us.
Governing law
We are a Devon business. We operate under English law. These terms and any agreement between us are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This is the legal framework that applies to our work together.
If a dispute arises that we cannot resolve between ourselves, it will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. We hope it never comes to that. We prefer to talk things through. A conversation over a cup of tea solves most problems. But if it cannot, the courts are there.
This clause gives both of us clarity. You know where you stand. We know where we stand. It is a simple, standard provision. It protects both parties by establishing a clear legal home for our agreement.
We believe in doing good business in our local community. That means following the law of the land. It is the foundation of trust. We build on that foundation.
